Hiking and the Dachstein
The Schladming-Dachstein region has more than 1,500 km of waymarked trails and around 300 mountain lakes; Ramsau am Dachstein and Schladming both hold the Austrian hiking quality seal. The route portal includes the 5-Hütten-Weg (five huts trail), the Leitenrundweg and the Dorfrundweg Ramsau. The Dachstein Museum at the Austriahütte (1,638 m) is part of the card offer.
The Dachstein Glacier cable car valley station is 11 km from the house (approx. 18 min). The panorama gondola reaches the glacier in about 10 minutes; at the top are the Skywalk above a 250 m vertical rock face at 2,700 m, the 100 m suspension bridge, the Stairway to Nothingness and the Ice Palace.
In summer 2026 (9 May to 8 November) the glacier cable car runs daily from 8 am to 5.20 pm. A seat reservation is mandatory, with the card as well; the card has a special rule for this cable car (see cable cars).
Rittisberg and families
The Rittisberg is 4.6 km from the house. The step-free ten-seater gondola of the Rittisberg lift goes up to 1,500 m, where you will find the “I love Rittisberg” playground, the fairy-tale trail, laser biathlon and archery.
The Rittisberg Coaster is an all-weather summer toboggan run with a 1,300 m track. Children can ride along from age 3 and alone from age 8 and 1.35 m. There is also the Flyline and a forest high-ropes course. With the card the lift is included, and the Coaster gives one free ride in the early and late season. Also part of the card offer: the Museum ZEITROAS in Ramsau.
Swimming
Ramsau Beach, 4.5 km from the house, is a natural moor lake with 6,000 m² of water, a 3 m diving board, two beach volleyball courts and a playground. It is open from July to early September, and entry is free with the card.
The Dachstein Bad Ramsau (5.1 km) has a 25 m sports pool, a leisure pool and a children’s pool; the card covers up to 3 hours, the sauna is not included. Other pools nearby that accept the card: Freizeitsee Pichl and the Erlebnisbad Schladming.
Cycling and e-bikes
Sport Ski Willy in Ramsau hires out e-mountain bikes, 15 % cheaper with the card; the Alpincenter Dachstein offers guided e-bike tours. The region also has the Schladming bike park on the Planai, the Reiteralm Trails, the Haus-Aich singletrack and the Enns cycle path.
Bicycles cannot be taken on RVB buses. The house has bike storage for 9 of the 12 apartments.

Day trips
- Silberkarklamm gorge in Ramsau (10.6 km, approx. 17 min): usually open from about May to October depending on snow; reachable on RVB routes 962 and 964 via Ramsau Vorberg.
- Wilde Wasser and Riesachsee in the Untertal near Schladming: a walkway from the Riesach waterfall that needs sure feet and a head for heights; reduced parking with the card.
- Dachstein toll road: free with the card, by car or by RVB bus.
